We planned our Vow Renewal at the beautiful Lavender Oak Vineyard in the Santa Ynez Valley, north of Santa Barbara, to celebrate our 2nd year of marriage on September 2nd. When we found out our favorite film Photographer, Lynn Dunston from Northern, California would be in the Santa Ynez area around our Wedding Anniversary, we just had to book her. Lynn is an amazingly talented Luxury Film Photographer. We also loved the fact that she is a Black small business owner and a rarity in the film photography world.
Why Renew?
We decided to renew our vows and photograph it because we believe wholeheartedly in documenting the milestones, achievements and the memories to look back on and say, “Wow, remember that year was so hard and we didn’t think we would make it, but by the grace of God, we did!” To be simply put, we just really love and value heirloom photographs for its ability to tell a story in more than a thousand words.
Our vow renewal was the best way to recommit ourselves to each other after a challenging 2020 year for many married couples like us. Our love has surely deepened and matured throughout this year of many challenges and hardships. We are so grateful to our Lord & Savior and our belief in ourselves and one another, to be able to get through the trials and tribulations that come in life and in marriage, together.
If you are thinking of doing a vow renewal, please “Just Do It!” A vow renewal is a great and memorable way to celebrate your marriage. Perhaps you’ve made it to 2, 5, 10, 25 or 50 years together and you want the world to know you’d do it all over again in a heartbeat. Maybe you want to reaffirm your commitment to each other after a rough period in your relationship. There’s no wrong reason to renew. You can do it big and lavishly or small and intimate like we did. It’s really up to you!
We are so thankful to Lavender Oak Vineyard for allowing us to use their beautiful vineyard for our Vow Renewal.
We came across the beautiful, Lavender Oak Vineyard a year ago for a friends wedding and met the owner, Dean and loved how friendly and kind he was. We knew we had to come back and visit for the beautiful lavender around the property, the organic and amazing wines, and the family friendly experience Dean & Christi provide their guests at their private and intimate wine tastings. If you are looking to take a trip to Santa Barbara, just two hours North of Los Angeles, we highly recommend you explore the beautiful wineries of Santa Barbara County. Dean & Christi’s family owned vineyard is a must visit to experience a private tasting for you and your family and friends. From their Chardonnay to their Award Winning Pinot Noir. You are in for the ultimate winery experience at Lavender Oak Vineyard. We can’t wait to bring our family and friends with us next time!
